The Snappening

It seems that a lot of Snapchat users are about to have their “private” photos and videos released in a very public way.

From the early reports, a 3rd party service that allowed you to save you snapchats was hacked – or more likely, a setup from the beginning. The service asked for your Snapchat login and password – something you should avoid giving to anyone other than Snapchat and their official apps. It seems that the service has been collecting user information for years. Terrible, but this is becoming a more common occurance.

There’s no time like the present to enact a security and privacy plan for your data. Change your passwords regularly. Don’t reuse passwords. Use two-factor authentication whenever possible. And, if it’s something you don’t want anyone to ever see – don’t upload it anywhere.
